Please call after 11am to enquire about your test results as results.
Note that due to practice policies regarding confidentiality and data protection, we can only give test results to the patient themselves unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you come for a test you will be advised how long it will be before the results will be available.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
If you are asked to bring in any specimens for testing please ensure that they arrive before 11am, to ensure they can be sent to the hospital via the courier service.
You will be asked to complete a short form to go with your sample to ensure it is processed appropriately.
The Laboratory that looks at your sample may review all screening records, including your sample, as part of their aim to offer a quality service and to increase the expertise of specialist staff. This means that staff who work elsewhere in the health service will need to see your records.
