Menopause & Perimenopause Appointments

Menopause is inevitable but how we deal with it isn't!

Menopause symptoms can affect every part of the body causing a wide range of symptoms.

Each woman's experience will be different and while many have mild and transient symptoms, some women are very severely affected with symptoms causing a profound effect on quality of life, relationships and ability to work.

Symptoms can start a decade before the last period. This means that women in their 30's and 40's can be troubled with symptoms as well as older women.

Menopause increases the risk of some health conditions such as heart disease, osteoporosis and type 2 diabetes and the right treatment can reduce those risks. The NICE guidelines are clear that for the majority of women in the UK the benefits of treatment outweigh any risks.

You don't have to suffer in silence!

If you are having symptoms that you think may be menopause related (or even if you are not sure) please make an appointment to discuss it.

Dr Hinton, Dr Ward and Kirsty Udall (our Clinical Pharmacist) are all able to offer menopause advise and treatment.

It would be really helpful to complete a symptom profile before your appointment. This can be done using the free 'balance' app - click here for details.

Alternatively you can use the Greene Climacteric Scale - available here
