Depending on your illness, the check takes between 20 to 40 minutes and is usually with the Practice nurse. You will be advised by letter when your check is due, but if you think you may have been missed, please check with Reception. We will let you know if you need a blood or urine test or if you need to bring anything with you.
Annual hypertension checks can be carried out by the Healthcare Assistants.
If you are happy that your asthma is properly controlled by your current medication, you can let us know by filling out the form found in the link on the right.
If you have any concerns about any aspect of your chronic disease, please make an appoinment to see your GP or the Practice nurse.
You do not have to wait until you are called.

Please ring for test results Tuesdays to Fridays after 2pm one week after your test as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.
Specimens (Blood tests, urine samples, etc.) go to the hospital via a courier service which leaves the surgery at 11:30 am on week days.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

It is important for the health of your child and others that you ensure vaccinations are up to date. A course of childhood immunisations help protect not only your child, but future generations and the wider community.
All childhood vaccinations should be booked with the practice nurse. You should receive a reminder about these vaccines from the central childhood immunisations centre. If you think a vaccine may be due but you have not received notification, please contact the surgery.
Knightwick Surgery will endeavour to chase patients who are overdue for vaccines.
PLEASE NOTE: We must gain the consent of the child’s legal parent or guardian in order to vaccinate them. If you are asking another carer (e.g. a grandparent) to bring your child to be vaccinated, please contact the surgery beforehand to let us know and if possible provide written consent to be bought to the appointment. If we do not have parental/guardian consent, we will be unable to vaccinate your child.
